Isomaltose is a reducing disaccharide composed of two glucose units linked by an α(1→6) glycosidic bond, used mainly in biochemical research as a substrate for α-glucosidases such as sucrase-isomaltase and oligo-1,6-glucosidase and as a reference standard in carbohydrate analysis.
