Sarcosine is a naturally occurring amino acid derivative used in biochemical research and pharmaceutical synthesis. It is also a precursor to acyl sarcosinate surfactants used in cosmetic cleansers and conditioners, toothpaste antienzyme agents, and anti-corrosion additives for metal finishing.
