Thiabendazole (2-(4-thiazolyl)benzimidazole) is a heterocyclic compound used primarily as an antifungal agent in agricultural and veterinary applications. It is applied mainly as a post-harvest fungicide to control spoilage of citrus fruit and to protect seed potatoes, and serves as a biocide in paints, adhesives and wood preservatives. As a benzimidazole fungicide, it binds fungal β-tubulin and blocks microtubule assembly, disrupting mitosis, and is effective against a broad spectrum of plant pathogens. Available in powder form with a purity of ≥98%, it has a CAS number of 148-79-8, molecular formula C10H7N3S, and molecular weight of 201.25 g/mol. Stored at ambient temperatures, it carries a warning signal word due to potential health hazards. Molekula supplies Thiabendazole from research to bulk quantities with full documentation and ISO 9001:2015 traceability.
