Carnauba wax is a natural plant-based wax derived from the leaves of the Copernicia prunifera palm, commonly used in coatings, polishes, and cosmetics for its high melting point and glossy finish. It has a CAS number of 8015-86-9 and, as a natural mixture of long-chain esters, fatty acids and alcohols, has no single molecular formula. Stored at ambient temperatures, it carries no signal word.
