Cardiogreen is a fluorescent dye used in biomedical research for cellular imaging and detection of specific biomolecules. As an infrared-absorbing tricarbocyanine dye, it is also used in infrared photography, in making Wratten filters, and in diagnostics of blood volume, cardiac output and liver function. It is supplied in solid form with a molecular weight of 774.96 g/mol, a molecular formula of C43H47N2O6S2·Na, and a CAS number of 3599-32-4. Store at ambient temperature. Warning: causes skin irritation, causes serious eye irritation and may cause respiratory irritation.
