Application

PCR & qPCR reagents

Bulk-quality Tris, MgCl₂, KCl and nucleotides for nucleic-acid amplification.

PCR reagents are the buffer salts and cofactors that make DNA polymerases work: Tris-HCl (pH 8.3–8.8) for the reaction buffer, KCl for ionic strength, MgCl₂ as a polymerase cofactor, dNTPs for chain extension, and EDTA for stopping reactions. Molekula supplies molecular-biology-grade and ACS-grade salts with full Certificates of Analysis per batch.

What's in this workflow

Reaction buffer
Tris-HCl, KCl, (NH₄)₂SO₄ — the salts that keep polymerase active and Mg²⁺ in solution.
Cofactors
MgCl₂ (1.5–4 mM typical), MgSO₄ for Pfu, MnCl₂ for low-fidelity readout.
Templates
dNTPs in molecular-biology grade.
Stops & cleanup
EDTA, ammonium acetate, NaOAc.

FAQ

What grade of Tris should I use for PCR?

Molecular-biology grade (DNase/RNase-free) is recommended. ACS-grade also works for routine PCR but lacks the certified nuclease-free testing.

What MgCl₂ concentration is best?

1.5–2.0 mM is the standard starting point. Optimize between 1 and 4 mM for tricky templates — more Mg²⁺ relaxes specificity, less Mg²⁺ tightens it.

Does Molekula supply DNase/RNase-free buffer salts?

Yes — many products are available as molecular-biology grade with nuclease testing on the CoA. Request the molecular-biology grade when quoting.
