Application

Cell culture & media

Sterile-grade salts, buffers, and supplements for mammalian and microbial culture.

Cell culture relies on a balanced salt solution (PBS, HBSS, DPBS), a pH buffer (HEPES, sodium bicarbonate), and supplements (L-glutamine, sodium pyruvate, glucose) added to base media (DMEM, RPMI). Molekula supplies the underlying reagents in cell-culture-tested grades with low endotoxin specifications on request.

FAQ

Why use HEPES instead of bicarbonate buffer?

HEPES holds pH stable without CO₂, so it works on the bench during microscopy or short manipulations outside the incubator. Cells in long-term culture need bicarbonate + CO₂ for normal physiology.

What grade is required for cell culture?

Cell-culture tested grade with low endotoxin (typically <1 EU/mg) is recommended. Request endotoxin-tested grade when quoting.
