Application
Green & sustainable chemistry
Solvent alternatives, bio-based reagents, and reduced-toxicity catalysts for cleaner routes.
Green-chemistry solvents replace traditional petroleum-derived ones (DCM, DMF, NMP) with bio-based or less-hazardous alternatives: 2-MeTHF and CPME for ethereal solvents, ethyl lactate and γ-valerolactone (GVL) for polar protic / aprotic, Cyrene as a DMF surrogate. Molekula supplies these on a process-chemistry scale.

FAQ
Why switch from DMF to Cyrene?
DMF is a reproductive-hazard solvent flagged under REACH. Cyrene (dihydrolevoglucosenone) is bio-based, biodegradable, and is a drop-in for many DMF / NMP applications.
Is 2-MeTHF a direct THF replacement?
Yes for most aprotic-ether uses. It is bio-based (from corn cob), has a higher boiling point (80°C vs THF's 66°C), and is less peroxide-prone.
