Cobalt(II) sulfate is a cobalt salt used in electroplating, catalyst production, and as a precursor in the synthesis of other cobalt compounds. It is also used in storage battery manufacture, in pigments for ceramics, glass and porcelain glazes, and as a drier for paints, inks and varnishes. It appears as a pink to red crystalline solid.
